David B. Levy, ASIFA-East President
David B. Levy is an award-winning independent filmmaker and animation director for Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues, the Noggin Channel’s Pinky Dinky Doo, and Cartoon Network’s Assy McGee. His animation has been seen on Saturday Night Live and HBO. He has lectured and taught at Parsons School of Design, School of Visual Arts, NYU, and Pratt, and is president of the New York chapter of Association International du Film d’Animation (ASIFA.) Levy’s book, Your Career in Animation: How to Survive and Thrive (Allworth Press, 2006) is about to go into a third print run. Levy is currently writing a second book for Allworth Press. Dayna Gonzalez, Blog Editor
Dayna Gonzalez is an award-winning animator with over a decade of experience as a Lead Character Animator for a variety of broadcast, film, and web productions. Dayna holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a major in film/animation, and a minor in Sociology. In 2008, she completed a Certificate Program in Web Design at SUNY/FIT in the interest of exploring animation and interactive web design. She writes an animation industry blog as a Pavaline Filmmaker’s Network Advisor. Justin Simonich
Justin took an early liking to art, which he expressed by drawing all over the walls of his parents’ house. He pursued his love of art further by studying at some big fancy colleges all over the world. He now teaches at a fancy college in Brooklyn, NY as well as working for studios all over the city. Emmett Goodman
Emmett Goodman comes from Chicago, London, Cleveland, and now, New York. A graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, Emmett has already made two short films, a few experiments, and a music video. He has also worked for Augenblick Animation, London Squared, and Charged! to name a few places. Emmett tends to lose himself in animation and music, as well as writing and movies. He currently lives in Park Slope in Brooklyn. Sam Marlow
Sam Marlow has been creating various independent comics for the last three years while attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (B.F.A. 2008). Sam Marlow’s work and experience has extended to various mediums, including oil painting, silk-screen printing, animation, with the most recent concentration on comic book writing and drawing. While discovering the styles and techniques of comics, he worked as a colorist for Chicago comic artist, Paul Hornshemeier, on titles such as Omega the Unknown and The Three Paradoxes. During his last year of school Sam and fellow Art Institute graduate, Ellis Rosen, dedicated their time to creating, writing and illustrating the first issue of Night Wrench, a tongue and cheek story of a vigilante in the midst of a corrupt politically correct society, battling various thematic villains. Sam is currently working on a short comic, based on an animation he completed in school, called “The Last Endeavor”. The comic involves various circumstances for Earth’s destruction.
Dan Meth
Dan Meth is an award-winning cartoon director, writer, and animator. He recently created two highly acclaimed original web-series; “The Meth Minute 39″ and “Nite Fite”. You can see all his work at www.danmeth.com. Meth currently resides in Brooklyn, NYC.
Stephanie Yuhas
Stephanie Yuhas is an award-winning writer, producer, and artist whose work has been featured on the front page of YouTube, MySpace, Channel Frederator, and in dozens of international film festivals. Yuhas is also the Executive Producer of Project Twenty1, the largest film competition in Philadelphia where Teams of filmmakers have 21-Days to complete a film or animation based on a common secret element. She is currently working as the Creative Executive at Cinevore Studios on the feature “Wizard Rainbow Unicorn”, as well as developing intellectual properties at Shinygrape Studios. Katie Cropper is not an award winning animator but she sure is a winner. Katie is a recent grad of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
